How to Volunteer with the Band and Flags
If you wish to chaperone or work with the students at anytime, you MUST have a DPS clearance from NEISD. If you have previously volunteered at any NEISD campus, you should all ready have a volunteer number and you do not have to get a new one. Just call 804-7226 and tell them that you will also be volunteering at James Madison High School.
If you don't have a volunteer ID#
Apply Online (Quickest Way) - go to https://portal.neisd.net/vchrc/ and complete the online form. Response time is generally 5 days and is considerably quicker than applying using the paper application.
Paper Application - Download the paper application by clicking here. Print the application, fill it out and turn it into our Volunteer Committee person. A copy of this form was included in your student's Band Packet given out at the beginning of the Band School Year. Because this form must be submitted to Texas DPS, it will takes weeks using the paper application.
Once you have a volunteer ID#
At large events, Concessions and/or chaperoning there will be volunteer sign in sheets, please make sure you sign in at any event you are volunteering and working for our Band. The sign-in sheet will usually be at the Band Hall or at the Concession stands. Please include your Volunteer ID # if you remember it.
There is also an online volunteer hour tracking site for times when you forget to sign-in, a sign-in sheet wasn't readily available or when you are working on a band project from home. Go to www.v-volunteer.com and create an account there, once the account is created you can enter volunteer hours directly through that website.
If you forget your Volunteer ID#
Click here to access NEISD's Volunteer ID# retrieval page. You must have submitted and received a reply to your original Criminal History Record Check in the past to retrieve your volunteer number.
