The Madison Band and Flag boosters would like to remind everyone of some very important dates that are fast approaching.April 10th, Board and General Meeting at 7:00 and 7:30, respectively. Among topics on the agenda are 2012-2013 Board Member Elections, BBQ Dinner plans, Band Banquet details and Trip news.
Concessions are still working hard with soccer and softball events still underway and NEISD has worked out an aggrement with the newly formed San Antonio Scorpions for the NEISD High School Band Booster Associations to staff the Heroes' Concessions stands during their home games. Our first of four Scorpions home games is April 15th, we are on the Home Side for this event and still need parent and student volunteers. The Scorpions home games are a new source of concessions revenue for the NEISD HS Bands, please come out and help make this something we, as band boosters, and the SA Scorpions will want to renew annually. |
April 28th will be our annual BBQ Lunch/Dinner, the Band Students will be getting tickets to sell very soon! This year the plates will cost $7 ea. and as always, we need your help with set-up, serving and of course the clean-up.
May 5th is the Band Council's Annual Band Banquet, this year it will be held at the Airport Hilton just as it was last year. Estimated ticket price is $25 per student.
Band Pictures
We are in the process of uploading and organizing the pictures Mr. Powell and other parents have taken of the band during this year's marching season.The pictures will be found at www.madisonbandboosters.org/Gallery2011
The first to become available online will be the Senior Day pictures taken by Mr. Waters. Mr. Waters takes pictures of pretty much every Madison sporting event he has the opportunity to attend and publishes them online at jamesmadisonsports.phanfare.com Along with the sporting event, he never stops taking pictures even during halftime, so be sure to check out the on-field pictures of the band!
Parent Volunteers
NEISD requires all parent volunteers to pass a DPS Background Check before being able to volunteer in ANY capacity. If you have not volunteered before, please click on either of the links listed here to begin the process. If you have volunttered before at the elementary or middle school level, be sure to update your status with NEISD to include the JMHS campus. To check your status with NEISD is to go online and look up your volunteer ID number, click here to do that now. If your status is Inactive, please submit to another Volunteer Criminal History Record Check as soon as possible! I am sure their system is BUSY with ALL NEISD parent volunteers having to go through the same process, so it is VERY important that everyone do this ASAP!
Timelines Props for Sale
Attention Band Directors, thinking of performing Inspire Music Production's Timelines? Well, the Madison Band is selling it's props from Timelines show! The props were used in our UIL performances and the First Place, Class Six performance at the USSBA Central Texas Regional Show.
